Proxy war
Khartoum has accused Chad of bombing inside west Darfur (Umm Dukhun area)  last Thursday. UNAMID, the joint peacekeeping force in Darfur could not confirm the attacks but the Sudan Media Center website claimed the Sudanese army was on "standby" and waiting for "the green light for retaliation".


As the violence in Darfur continues to fester,  Sudan has openly supported Chadian rebels seeking to oust President Idriss Deby.   Khartoum has charged Ndjamena with backing Darfur’s rebels.
