Citizens in remote area of S. Darfur make appeal over maternal mortality
 Citizens of Um Dafug in South  Darfur State appealed to the government to immediately intervene to alleviate the suffering of the citizens of the region citing the high numbers of maternal and infant deaths because of the difficulty of transporting cases of obstructed childbirth to the town Rehed Al Bardi across the rugged roads.There is also no obstetrician at the hospital in Um Dafug  which is 300 kilometres away from Nyala and 150 kilometers away from Rehed al Bardi. Access is further interrupted during the rainy season.
